VR pornnow's browser games are back after a long outage: what broke and what returned

How it went dark

VR pornnow makes interactive scenes rather than games in the usual sense. You choose a performer or a direction and the video follows. Its titles stream in a VR browser from VRPorn.com, and for a long stretch they did not stream at all.

The comment threads let us rebuild the order of events, with dates converted from the pages' relative timestamps.

The studio has not explained what failed. Its own website, vrpornnow.com, carries no notice about the outage either way. What is clear from the error a player saw is that the fault sat on the server side, out of reach of anything a player could change in a headset or browser.

What came back, and what is new

The returning titles are the same three scenes. House of Lust picks its resolution automatically from your connection speed, an approach the studio defended two years ago while promising manual control. Choose Your Favorite Girl now lists that manual control in a What's New section: Auto, HD, 4K and 5K quality, playback at 0.25x to 4x speed, and three bonus performers. The page gives no date for these additions, so we cannot say whether they arrived before or after the outage.

The one new release is Flatmates with Benefits, a choose-your-path scene in a shared house with five performers. Its launch produced the only fresh fault, a Quest 3 owner unable to stream it, and that was handled quickly. The moderator reproduced it, passed it to the developers, and reported it fixed within about a week. Compared with the months-long silence before, that is a different studio at work.

The Flatmates page also promises more interactive apps and games, and the studio's site lists 6DoF volumetric video as coming soon. Neither gives a date.

How the games run now

All of them stream in a VR-capable browser; the pages name Chrome and the Meta browser. On a Quest that means the Quest Browser, no install and no PC. Older reports of a grey screen and of failure on a Quest 3 date from about two years ago, before the outage, and nobody has repeated them since the games returned.

Two practical points. Picture quality depends on your connection unless you set it by hand where the menu exists, and the studio itself warns that 5K on a slow connection will stutter. And access is less clear than it should be: every Stream button asks you to sign in, Flatmates asked for a Premium account when we checked, but none of the descriptions says outright which tier you need.

What to make of the comeback

An outage of most of a year would sink many small studios. VR pornnow came back, shipped a new title and fixed its first bug within a week, which is a better recovery than the silence of the previous winter suggested. The weak spot is still communication. A dated note on each page, saying what failed and what changed, and a line stating whether the scenes need Premium, would cost the studio very little and settle most of what its commenters keep asking.

If one of these scenes still fails to start for you, the browser-side checks in our Quest 3 fixes apply to every WebXR game on the site. Everything else that plays without a PC is in our headset list. Live-action scenes driven by hand tracking rather than choices are covered in our XPlayVR piece.
