Quick answers

Do I need to play House Call Succubus first?
It helps: the second comic continues Darcie's story from the first.
I can't enter VR mode. What should I check?
Whether your headset and browser are on the game's list: some PC headsets need Edge or Firefox Reality, and the Pico 4 runs without AR or hand tracking.
Can I turn off the speech bubbles?
Yes, and you can also hide objects that block your view and the overhead menu button.

Our read, before we play it

More of the same comic in the good sense, with a lighting look that has divided players since launch.

Worth it if

  • You finished the first House Call Succubus
  • You want a story-led scene you can loop rather than play
  • You want AR on a Quest

Skip it if

  • You have not seen part one: the story picks up from it
  • You are sensitive to flat WebXR lighting
  • You need hand-tracked interaction

Chapter two

The sequel picks up after the first comic. Since Darcie's last visit the protagonist has had some experience of his own, and she arrives planning to make this time more interesting. The format does not change: a fully animated story in the browser, with a Repeat button, first-person views, speech bubbles you can turn off and an option to hide anything blocking the view. Passthrough AR was added and is marked new.

Customisation follows the studio's usual set: colours for hair, skin, eyes and clothing, body sliders and physics, and a menu to hide the overhead button. On an Oculus Go a laser cursor stands in for hands.

The look

The one consistent piece of criticism is visual. A player found the WebXR lighting odd and hoped it would improve; another thought it would work better in a darker room. Browser rendering on a standalone headset has limits, and comics depend on mood more than most formats. AR helps here, because your own room supplies the lighting the scene lacks.

When VR mode will not start

One player could not enter VR at all and got no reply. The game's headset list is the first check: Quest and Quest 2 are fully supported, PC headsets only through Edge or Firefox Reality and only sometimes, and the Pico 4 without AR or hand tracking. Beyond that, the browser checks in our RockHardVR fix apply.

Our read

If you enjoyed House Call Succubus, this is a straightforward second helping. Watch it in AR if your headset allows, and in the dark if it does not.
