RockHardVR browser games won't start: the Stream button, black screens and XML errors

Three different problems look the same from inside the headset. Telling them apart takes about a minute and saves you from resetting a browser that was never broken.

The short answer

No Stream button means you are not signed in to a Premium account: the button sits under the preview video and only shows for Premium. A black screen or an XML error on every RockHardVR game at once usually means their server is down, and nothing on your headset will fix it. If only your headset fails while the games work for others, reset the site's permissions in the Quest Browser, then clear the browser's storage as a last resort.

If the game fails only on your headset

  1. Sign in again. Open VRPorn.com in the Quest Browser and sign in to the Premium account. The Stream button is at the bottom right, under the preview video. Free accounts see the page but not the button.
  2. Check whether everyone is affected. Try a second RockHardVR game. If every title shows the same XML error or black screen, look at the newest comments on the game's page before touching your settings. During past outages the studio and VRPorn's moderator said so there.
  3. Reset the site's permissions. In the Quest Browser, reset the permissions for vrporn.com and allow the immersive (VR) mode again when the game asks. Meta's help page on website permissions for immersive web experiences describes where these switches live in your version of the browser.
  4. Allow microphone and spatial data. VRPorn's moderator lists both permissions for the Quest Browser as part of the fix. Spatial data matters for passthrough and hand tracking; without it the game can load into a black void.
  5. Clear the browser's storage, last. Clearing storage signs you out everywhere and deletes saved scenes, because RockHardVR saves your poses and collections inside the browser. Do it only after the steps above.

Three failures that look alike

RockHardVR makes around twenty of the browser games on VRPorn.com (which to play first): the Aida, Faye and Maya titles, the Succubus pair, Dream Playroom and Idol Playroom among them. They share one engine and one server, so they also share their problems. When one stops working, it is worth knowing which kind of stop you are looking at.

The button is not there. The game page loads, the preview plays, and there is nothing to press. This is an account issue, not a technical one. Asked where the button had gone, VRPorn's moderator answered that you have to log in to a Premium account and look at the bottom right, under the preview. Free accounts get the page without the button.

Everything is black, everywhere. Late last year RockHardVR wrote on its own game pages that every one of its titles was showing an XML error or a black screen, with only one partly working. The studio was explicit that the cause was not the Quest 3S or any other headset. VRPorn's moderator confirmed the games were being recovered, and by spring players were thanking the studio that the games worked again. If you hit an error on one RockHardVR game, open a second one. If that fails the same way, the newest comments on the game page are a faster status check than any setting.

Only your headset fails. This is the case the steps above are for. A Quest 3S owner reported that none of the games would start while they ran for others; the moderator replied with the permission checklist we reproduce here, in the order it was given.

Saves live in the browser, and that cuts both ways

Dream Playroom and the other pose-and-play titles save your scenes in the browser rather than on an account. RockHardVR's developer explained this after VRPorn changed its domain: private collections were lost because browser saves are tied to the address they were made on. The same mechanism means that clearing the Quest Browser's storage wipes them too. That is why it is the last step, not the first.

Headsets that are supported, and the ones that only sometimes work

The game pages split headsets into two lists. Meta Quest 3, Quest 2 and the original Quest are listed with hand tracking; the Pico 4 runs without hand tracking or passthrough. Valve Index through SteamVR, the Rift and Rift S, Windows MR and the Vive are listed as headsets that may work at times, through Chrome or Edge. If you are on one of those and a game fails, the browser is the first suspect, not the account. The full picture per game is in our compatibility table.

When hand tracking seems not to respond

This one is not a fault. The developer warns that the game needs three to seven strokes before it has measured your movement, and that the Insertion Rate and Insertion Threshold sliders change how it reads speed and timing. On the original Quest, the Room Detail option "Only Essentials" is the setting the studio suggests for a steadier frame rate. On a Quest 3 or 3S, menus that will not open and controllers that jump about have their own causes, covered in our Quest 3 browser-game fix.

Still stuck after all five steps? Note your headset, the game and the exact message, and leave it in the comments of that game's page on VRPorn.com, where both the studio and the site's moderator answer. When our Telegram opens, we will collect these reports in one place.

Quick answers

Why can't I see the Stream button on Aida's Secret Therapy?
The button shows only when you are signed in to a VRPorn.com Premium account. It sits at the bottom right, under the preview video.
Is the black screen caused by my Quest 3S?
Not when every RockHardVR game fails at once. In that case the studio's server is the cause, and the studio said in its own comments that the headset was not the problem.
Will clearing the Quest Browser delete my saved scenes?
Yes. RockHardVR stores saved poses and collections in the browser, tied to the site's domain, so clearing storage removes them.
