XPlayVR is the newest studio in VRPorn.com's games section, and it has found a lane nobody else on the list occupies. Its scenes are filmed with real performers in 8K, 180° 3D, the way ordinary VR video is. The difference is that you are not just watching. In Channeling Her Inner Star, with Asteria Jade, your tracked hands guide the action, a TV remote in the room switches channels when you point at it or click it, and looking straight at the TV triggers a new event.
On paper that is a small change. What it is reaching for is the step from sitting back to paying attention, and that step is the gap XPlayVR is betting on.
Where it runs
It streams in the headset browser through WebXR, so on a Quest there is nothing to install. The page names only Quest headsets, describing the scene as optimised for them, and it also offers on-screen controls for playing on a PC or a phone without a headset. Passthrough is not mentioned, and because it is 180° video you cannot walk around the performer the way you can in Braindance.
A studio three releases old
Channeling Her Inner Star is XPlayVR's third title on the site, after Watch and Play with Octavia Red about three months earlier and Paused for Pleasure with Scarlett Alexis about two months earlier.
