Quick answers

What is Paused for Pleasure?

Scarlett Alexis stars in this XPlayVR browser scene, tagged 8K 180° 3D. You steer it with hand tracking and a TV remote in the scene.

How many positions does it have?

Five, according to the page description: missionary, reverse, standing, cowgirl and doggy.

Can you actually pause the scene?

The page does not describe a pause feature. The title refers to the premise, in which she steps out of the TV.

Do I need a headset?

No. The page says it plays on a PC or phone with on-screen controls; hand tracking works best on a Quest.

Our read, before we play it

XPlayVR's formula with more to choose from, and a title that promises a pause mechanic the page never explains.

Worth it if

You liked Watch and Play and want more positions to choose between
You want 8K 180° video with a little control, on a Quest, with no install
You sometimes watch on a PC or phone

Skip it if

You expect to freeze the scene and move around it: no pause feature is described
You want freedom of movement: it is 180° video
You use a headset other than a Quest

Out of the screen

The premise of XPlayVR's second scene flips its first. In Watch and Play the television gave you ideas. In Paused for Pleasure, Scarlett Alexis steps out of the TV and into the room. It is filmed the same way, as real-performer 180° 3D video, and this time the page tags it 8K.

More choice than the first

The page description lists five positions: missionary, reverse, standing, cowgirl and doggy. That is the first time XPlayVR has said how much is inside one of its scenes, and it suggests this is the larger of the two early releases. Control works as before. Hand tracking drives interaction, and the page says it works best on a Quest. The in-scene remote is unchanged: point or click to change the channel, and centring your view on the TV triggers a new event.

About the title

Despite the name, the page describes no pause mechanic. There is nothing about freezing the scene or stepping around it, and as 180° video it could not offer the free movement of volumetric titles such as Braindance. Read the title as a description of the premise, not of a feature.

Where it runs

It streams in the browser, so a Quest needs no install. The page names only Quest headsets. On a PC or phone you can play flat with on-screen controls. Passthrough and toy support are not mentioned.

What we could not confirm

The total running time is not given. The preview metadata lists 91 seconds at a low resolution, which describes the trailer and not the 8K scene. Access is not stated in words; the Stream button sends you to a log-in.

What players say

Three short, friendly comments, the same number as the first scene, and none about bugs. One welcomes new releases in the series, which is worth noting: XPlayVR has kept a pace of roughly one scene a month since July.

Our read

If the first XPlayVR scene left you wanting more to choose from, this is the one to try next. Go in expecting a short, controlled video experience rather than a game. How it compares with the other two is set out in our XPlayVR series guide.
