Quick answers

Is Dream Playroom free?
The full game needs a VRPorn.com Premium account; the site said so in reply to players asking.
Where are my Dream Playroom scenes saved?
In your headset's browser, tied to the site's address. Clearing browser storage deletes them.
Does Dream Playroom need a PC?
No. It streams in the Quest browser through WebXR.
How do I make it run smoother on Quest?
Lower the resolution and turn off shadows and real-time lights in the settings, as the developer suggests.

Our read, before we play it

The closest thing to Virt-A-Mate's creative side that runs without a PC, as long as you remember your scenes live in the browser.

Worth it if

  • You want to build your own poses and multi-character scenes on a Quest
  • You have a Quest 2, 3 or Pro and want hand tracking with AR
  • You like returning to a saved scene rather than starting over

Skip it if

  • You clear your browser data often: saves are stored there
  • You are on an Oculus Go or Pico 4, where posing or AR is missing
  • You want a guided experience; this is a toy box

A builder, not a scene

Judging by their titles and pages, most of RockHardVR's twenty-odd browser games are a single encounter with one character. Dream Playroom is the exception the studio keeps adding to: a room where you create poses, put several characters into one scene, change their look and costume, switch voice sets and save the result to come back to. If Virt-A-Mate is the workshop for PC owners, this is the sketchbook for people with only a headset.

It streams from VRPorn.com in a new browser tab, so there is no installation and nothing left behind in your app library. On a Quest 2, 3 or Pro you get hand tracking and AR, meaning the scene can sit in your real room. The original Quest gets hand tracking without AR, the Oculus Go only a play mode without posing, and the Pico 4 runs it without hand tracking or AR.

Hands take a moment

The developer's notes are honest about a quirk: the game needs three to seven strokes before it has measured your hand movement, and two sliders, Insertion Rate and Insertion Threshold, change how it reads speed and timing. If nothing seems to happen in the first seconds, that is the calibration, not a fault.

On a Quest, the advice for a steadier frame rate is to drop the resolution and turn shadows and real-time lighting off.

Where your work lives

Scenes are saved in the browser, not in an account. That is convenient until something resets the browser. When VRPorn.com changed its domain, the developer confirmed that private collections were lost because the saves belonged to the old address. Clearing the Quest Browser's storage, a common step when a WebXR game misbehaves, will wipe them in the same way. If you build something you care about, assume it can disappear.

Free or not

The page itself does not spell it out, and returning players have been confused. The site's answer in the comments is clear: the full game needs a Premium account.

Our read

For Quest owners who like to make rather than watch, Dream Playroom is the most interesting of the RockHardVR titles and the strongest reason to try the browser side of Premium. Treat the save system as temporary. If the game will not start, our RockHardVR fix covers the Stream button, black screens and browser permissions. Sharing the headset with someone? Read our notes on privacy on a shared Quest before you save anything.

What reviewers and players report

  • Explained that private collection saves were lost when the site changed domain, because browser saves are tied to the address they were made on.

    — RockHardVR, the developer, on VRPorn.com, early 2026

  • Several asked whether the game had become Premium-only; the site's answer to one of them was that you need a Premium account.
